The Difference Between Lightform Extended Hydration Foundation And Filter Effect Soft Focus Foundation

Let’s talk foundation – one of our favorite topics. We know you are far from beauty newbies, so your collection is likely stocked with all kinds of finishes, coverages, and formulas. But we also know that foundation is the kind of essential where we have our go-tos – the ones we reach for over and over no matter what.

And usually? There are two – the hydrating foundation for the glowy no-makeup makeup days, and the medium coverage foundation for when you’re going all out. No matter what though, your complexion’s gotta look perfection.

Morphe knows because we are you, which is why we just launched Lightform Extended Hydration Foundation as the glowy-skin sister to our best-selling Filter Effect Soft Focus Foundation. And like sisters, they’re happiest when they get equal attention.

So while these two must-haves are going to be your holy grail foundations, let’s take a deep dive into the difference between the two.

Lightform Extended Hydration Foundation

We call the look real skin, perfected. Think about your best skin day, then take it a step further – that’s Lightform Extended Hydration Foundation. Not only is it weightless with
a buildable medium coverage, but it melts into the skin to diffuse imperfections instantly for that second-skin look. This is your hydrating foundation.

Some glowy radiant foundations add radiance on top of the skin, but Lightform is skincare-infused so it works hard to actively improve your skin and reveal the natural radiance that was there all along.

Lightform also has an innovative biomimetic HydroRelief Complex that hydrates for up to sixteen hours. It’s long-wearing, sweat-proof, and water-proof – the perfect foundation option if you’re having a casual day running errands, into the clean girl makeup look, or just want to improve your skin while basically doing nothing.

The result is your skin, switched
on—with a healthy-looking, hydrated, cared-for radiance that glows from within.

How to apply foundation if you have oilier skin:

1. Apply a thin layer to areas where you would want it– such as the high points of your cheeks.

2. Blend out into the skin using the Morphe M101 Lightform Dual-Ended Complexion Brush.

3. Then choose a Bake & Set Soft Focus Setting Powder to boost radiance where you want it and mattify and blot away excess oil from the places you don’t want it.

4. Use the Vegan Pro Series Powder Puff to press the powder into the under eyes, chin, and forehead, then brush away with a fluffy brush.

How to apply foundation if you have drier/combination skin:

1. Apply with the Morphe M101 Lightform Dual-Ended Complexion Brush, or a damp beauty sponge or your fingertips depending on the desired finish.

2. Bake and set your complexion using the Bake & Set Soft Focus Setting Powder if needed.

Filter Effect Soft Focus Foundation

Whether you’re new to Morphe foundation or you’ve been a fan for a while, Filter
Effect Soft Focus Foundation
has been our staple for years. We initially developed this formula to be flexible and versatile, so you could go full or soft glam no matter your mood. (Maybe you’re trying out the Mob Wife Aesthetic.)

We believe in a beauty switch up on the daily, and Filter Effect will get you there. Although it’s a buildable medium to full coverage foundation, it feels lightweight on the skin so you never get that heaviness from other formulas.

We took our finish inspo from our favorite social media filters – you know that flawless, blurred look of your most enviable influencer? Recreate that IRL with Filter Effect. Blur and diffuse the look of imperfections with this soft-focus makeup look powered by high-performing skincare ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid to help boost moisture levels and Vitamin E to deliver antioxidant protection.

How to apply Filter Effect:

1. Use a damp Microfiber Beauty Sponge to apply foundation, building product as needed. You can also apply with a foundation brush or your fingertips.

2. For a dewy finish, complete your look using cream formulas for your bronzer & blush.

3. To set your complexion, spritz your look with Continuous Setting Mist, or a hydrating formula like Luminous Setting Spray.

4. For the ultimate all-day wear, apply a small amount of loose setting powder with a large synthetic brush like the V115- Detail Setting Powder Brush or M581- Pointed Powder Brush

"But we also know that foundation is the kind of essential where we have our go-tos – the ones we reach for over and over no matter what."

What should I wear with my foundation?

Once you’ve applied either full coverage foundation or medium coverage
foundation, follow up with Filter Effect Soft Radiance Concealer to brighten and conceal any imperfections. Then choose a Morphe Complexion Pro Face Palette in your complementary skin tone to contour, bronze, blush, and highlight. Lastly, never forget to set your look so it stays in place all day. Choose from our cult icon Continuous Setting Mist and the skincare-infused Continuous Prep & Set Mist +.
