Essential Makeup Products for a Sparkly Holiday Glam
When it comes to glitter makeup products, it’s key to go for quality. We love a craft store moment as much as anyone, but not when you’re sweeping it over your eye. Morphe creates fun, expressive makeup products that are also of impeccable quality. So you can go all out with the glitter without worrying about irritation.
Glittery Eye Makeup
There are all kinds of glittery eye makeup, and half the fun is playing with it all. While you’re planning out your holiday makeup looks, try exploring not only different shades of shimmer but also formula and finish. The Morphe Mixed Signals Dual-Ended Cream & Liquid Shadow Stick has a creamy highly-pigmented shadow on one side and chrome liquid shadow flakes on the other, so you can dial it up or really up.
If you love an eyeshadow palette but are looking for versatility and glitter, the Rich & Foiled Artistry Palettes are beyond stunning. Choose from three metallic themes and enjoy shimmer, mattes, and a Molten Metal eyeshadow in the middle of each. There isare truly a wealth of holiday look possibilities.
Glowing Highlighters
Glitter and highlighter go together like tinsel and a tree – it’s all about finding shades that complement each other to create a cohesive look. Morphe’s Holiday Collection is called “Holiday Drama” because that’s what you’ll be bringing.
Try the new Overreaction Holographic Liquid Highlighter that transforms on the skin from white to a sheer wash of color. This multidimensional liquid shine glides on and puts you under the spotlight.
Festive Lipsticks & Lipgloss
You can’t have a glitter holiday makeup look without a lip gloss to go with it. Whether you want to keep the focus on your shimmery eyes or go bold on every one of your assets, a gloss can act as both the main character and the final touch.
Keep the glitter going with Aurascape Dripglass Glazed Lip Gloss. Many shades offer a subtle dose of shimmer that will catch every light. Wear on its own, pair it with a neutral lip liner like the viral favorite Makeup Talk, or add a dollop to the center of your bottom lip on top of your favorite shade of Soulmatte Velvet Lip Mousse.
How to Create Glittery Holiday Makeup Looks
Want some glittery holiday makeup inspo? Try this look out and let us know what you think.
Step 1: Prep Your Skin for Makeup Application
Make sure that holiday look is going nowhere no matter where you take it. Prime and prep the face with either our best-selling Continuous Setting Mist or pair the Equalizer Foundation Primer with our Eyelid Primer so every speck of glitter stays put.
Step 2: Apply Eye Makeup
Depending on the kind of glitter makeup you are playing with today, you may have to battle a little fallout (mostly if this is a powder product). To ensure a clean look when you’re done, start with your eye makeup rather than your base.
A traditional shimmer eye look involves first sweeping a neutral shade base over your eyelid, then a slightly deeper shade in the crease. With your finger or a packing brush, press the glitter or shimmer shade in the center of the lid. You could also keep the lid cleann, and line the bottom lash line with a sweep of glitter from Mixed Signals. We also love a hint of glitter in the inner corners of each eye. Don’t forget to finish your eye look off with a swipe or several of Make It Big Volumizing Mascara.
Step 3: Apply Face Makeup
Now create your everyday base. A glowy, hydrating foundation, concealer, maybe a little contour as well. Then sweep on a blush for a wintry pop of color – Huephoric Rush is available in six shades and delivers a hydrated, silk finish. Add some warmth back into your complexion with a few dots of Hot Shot Sun Drops, sweeping on wherever the sun would hit. Finish your base off with a tap or two of Overreaction Holographic Liquid Highlighter on the cheekbones, Cupid’s bow, and the tip of the nose.
Step 4: Apply Preferred Lip Products
When a glitter eye is the star of the show, we love a neutral yet glittery lip to go with it. Slightly overline your lips with a lip liner of your choice, smudging the edges slightly to get a blurred effect. Then top it off with Aurascape Dripglass Glazed Lip Gloss in shades Stargaze, Beige Beam, or Raspberry Reflection for a hit of color.
Step 5: Apply Setting Powder & Spray
Now set it all in place with one of Morphe’s best-selling setting sprays. From the original
Continuous Setting Mist to the skincare-packed Continuous Prep & Set Mist, just make sure you’re setting with something.
